He has extensive experience in the development of disease risk models and the development of information systems to support clinical outcomes reporting. Pierre is a systems-thinker who believes in the power of harnessing corporate intelligence in fully integrated information systems.
Andrew is one of South Africa’s leading managed care experts and has overseen the delivery of managed care to some of South Africa’s largest and best-known restricted schemes. Andrew firmly believes that the abundance of clinical data, improved technology, and system connectivity will radically change the way clinical risk is managed and see that member health is improved. This will result in the managed care landscape changing considerably over the next few years.
Nicola graduated from Stellenbosch University with a Cum-Laude honours degree in Statistics in December 2002. Her career in the healthcare sector started in March 2003 when she joined Qualsa Healthcare, the managed care arm of Metropolitan Health Group (MHG), as a health statistician. In August 2005, she was promoted to the senior statistician position; a role that required her to oversee all statistical analysis done by the Decision Support Systems (DSS) unit. During her time there she developed numerous data marts, including the implementation of a clinical data mart suite in order to do health outcomes reporting, she also played a pivotal role in creating and maintaining the scripts for the council data extracts. In March 2010, Nicola was appointed as Senior Manager: DSS and in 2011 she moved to Lifechoice.
